I believe a very excellent argument can be made that 1967 produced the greatest music in the history of popular music up to this point (early 2009.) These seven albums I would use as my evidence if I was presenting such an argument. Maybe that is specifically the argument I am presenting? Amazingly 4 of the seven albums I’m which includes in my list are debut albums by some of the most legendary bands in history of rock music. I feel that is a excellent indication of just what a breakthrough year 1967 really was. Who are those 4 bands? Pink Floyd (who were known as The Pink Floyd at the time), The Velvet Underground, The Doors, and The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Pretty wonderful, is not it? Early history
Around 1910, 78 rpm records replaced phonograph cylinder as the medium for recorded sound. The 78 rpm records were issued in both 10″ and 12″ diameter sizes and had been typically sold separately, in brown paper or cardboard sleeves that were occasionally plain and occasionally printed to show the producer or the retailer’s name.
